Patna: The Patna high court on Wednesday directed the officials concerned at Bhagalpur to file a reply by February 27 on a PIL filed by one Rajesh Chandra Jha regarding raising the height of a road in the city which was causing inconvenience to its residents. He alleged that the road from Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University to airport was constructed unscientifically and people were facing waterlogging.
A division bench of acting Chief Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari and Justice Samarendra Pratap Singh observed that the officials concerned had not followed the order of a division bench comprising the then Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Mihir Kumar Jha in Deepak Mukherjee case on April 19, 2010.
Wherever the height of the road is increased as a result of which inhabitants are affected, they are at liberty to bring it to the notice of the collector-cum-district magistrate who shall look into the same in quite promptitude and take appropriate action by bringing it to the notice of the experts, the court had ordered.
